Since I know of your potential and my purpose is to thwart it, two main goals come to mind. I would try to flood you with persuasive messages that 1) try to make your father, what he's achieved, and who he has become seem unimportant and even wrong if possible, and 2) downplay or disintegrate your relationship to him.
Everyone on this earth is a literal child of God. We were born as spirit children long before the earth was even created. Satan and those who follow him are jealous brothers. Satan has convinced many that morality, good works, integrity, unselfish love, service, and all the attributes of our perfect Father are not important and sometimes just wrong. Of all life that exists, we come from the most noble heritage. But Satan has convinced many that we aren't really his children. He's convinced them that God is some unknowable, ethereal being who is nowhere yet everywhere, and we are just another one of his creations. If we believe we have no more relationship to God than that of a dog, there is less motivation to outperform dogs when it comes to proper behavior and Godly character.
Contrary to what our jealous brother is saying, our Father is a real person. What He has achieved is perfect, lasting, constant happiness. His heavenly kingdom is built on principles of love, faith, caring and service. In fact, the core of his kingdom is a home. We were born to Him as spirits long before the earth was even created. We grew up in His home. We loved Him and wanted to become like Him, our Father. As a perfect loving father, our Heavenly Father wants us to live up to our potential so we can be prepared to accept His kingdom and power. That's why He sent us away to school (i.e. this earth life) to learn on our own the miserable consequences of bad behavior, and the joy and goodness that comes from living the way He teaches.
God is not a blob. He is our literal Father. We are not just another creation he put together in His spare time. We are his literal offspring. Just like every seed has potential to become like that from which it came, we have the potential to become like God. In fact, learning to become like Him is the purpose of this life.
